THE
WRITERS' LAB
24-Hour Playwriting Competition - 2008

Organised by the TheatreWorks Writers' Lab, the competition is in its 11th year. The only playwriting competition of its kind, the competition focuses on the lighter and fun side to playwriting and hopes to make playwriting and creativity a major part of people's lives. This year marks a precedent for the competition; the competition has broadened its outreach to the larger community with the Writers' Lab partnering South East CDC as part of the South East District Arts Festival 2008 - ARTXpressions and SHINE 2008.
TheatreWorks Writers' Lab is the longest running playwriting programme. Since its inception in 1990, the Writers Lab has nurtured many of Singapore's playwrights. The Writers' Lab aims to provide a hotbed for new Singapore plays and cultivate both emerging and established writers. The Lab is currently led by Robin Loon.
